The largest timber bridge in the world

The Kinsol Trestle is one of the largest timber bridges in the world, and it's located right here in British Columbia!
The last train crossed the trestle in 1979, but recently it was decided to preserve this great piece of history, instead of destroying it.

The trestle itself measures 145 ft tall and is over 600ft long. According to vancouver island big trees, from 1920 to 1979 it is believed that 5 billion board feet of timber was brought to market from Lake Cowichan's vast reserves over the CNR trestle.

The criss crosses of countless wood pieces is truly remarkable on a great scale. Standing near the bottom of the trestle is amazing, but walking on it is even a little nerve racking but mesmerizing nevertheless
