Here are some beautiful pictures of my home state, I returned to visit this last week. Of all the places Ive lived the nature in Washington is still some of thr most breath taking of all Ive ever seen.
Mt. Si is a famous mountain in my small home town of North Bend, WA. Named after an indian cheif, if you look closely you can see how it resembles a cheif with a head dress laying on his back. Not only have many places including my high school been named after this mountain, it offers some awesome hiking. 2 main tails one is about a 2 hour hike to the top...where depending the time of year you will find snow. The other about 30 minutes to a peek known as Little Si. At the top you can see the Cadacde mountian range, and tow n below with its snaking, Snoqualmie River and never ending sea of green.
There are many great places to hike and hang out including the Twin Falls trail and Rattle Snake Lake. The Snoqualmie River is popular during the summer for floating...
Rattle Snake Lake/Ridge, the tree trunks that remain from logging are comparable to some Redwoods
FYI he's 6 feet 4 inches tall.
Along theTwin Falls trail you will come across a network of stare stepping waterfalls like the one below.
Next door is the town of Snoqualmie, famous for their collection of old steam trains (Which you can ride to North Bend on weekends) and one of the tallest most spectacular watetfalls in the US, Snoqualmie Falls. At the top is a sound proof lodge called the Salish. Each room complete with a fire place, and double tub, many with balconies that hang over the falls. There is a easy trail to the bottom of the falls if you'd like to view it from the bottom. Every year Snoqualmie has a flood season with makes the falls full and roaring...literally breath taking as you stand beside it rumbling through your chest. During the winter the mist freezes o the surrounding bushes making a surreal scene of an ice world. The falls if some 500 feet taller then Niagara and worth seeing at least once in yout life. Snoqualmie was also huge for logging before 9/11 that closed down the mill that supported most the locals. Now most are supported by a new casino Snoqualmie Casino.
Me and my sister, we both worked at the Salish while growing up.
From the bottom, during a dry season the water flow WAY lower then normal.

#Seattle is always fun, with the famous Pike Place market, and Space Needle. Fun fact at the top of the Space Needle is a restaurant that slowly rotates. Fairly recently a ferris wheel was added to the pier over the water front where you can also take ferry rides to close by islands of the Puget Sound. OR my favor are the charter boats that take you out to see the curious Killler Whales that love to check out the boats. They are SO amazingly beautiful. Off in the distance you can see Mt. Rainer, our temperamental volcano thats due to wipe out all of Tacoma at any time..."The aroma of Tacoma" ...the place truely smells bad due to pollution...not much to see there now that the Tacoma Dome was imploded. :/

Hope you enjoyed my sneak peek of Washington State...feel free to shoot me any questions ypu might have. Xo - Kate
I always love natural scenery. The woods scene is really cool (so prehistoric). The waterfalls is great too. Makes me miss Niagara Falls. I'm from Buffalo NY

I'm a BIG fan of Washington State. Love the Pike Place Market of Seattle, and the quiet peace of North Bend, WA. I used to date a cute gal from Wenatchee many years ago. Can't wait for the new Twin Peaks series in 2017 - I heard Davld Lynch was up there filming it earlier in the year.
