Clement Hotel

I wanted to do something special for my mother's birthday, so I invited her and my father to join me for a stay at The Clement Palo Alto All-Inclusive Luxury Hotel.

When we arrived, the friendly staff greeted us literally with open arms as they instantly began to cater to us.

While our bags were being brought to our room we sat in the living room and sipped on our drink of choice.

Thank you cards

We had not gone to our room or toured the hotel, but my parents were expressing how much they loved it. I could not wait for them to experience the rest of the hotel. Our guest experience specialist, Gail gave us a tour and got us settled into our suit.

I have stayed at The Clement before, so I was expecting everything to be the same. I was pleasantly surprised to see personalized stationary with my name on it. I felt even more special than before.

After touring the hotel we immediately had lunch in the dining room. We could have requested room service or had our meals brought to us anywhere in the hotel. The staff at The Clement consistently asked if we needed anything to eat or drink. I try to eat very clean, so each time we placed our order they would say, "Is that all? You are easy!" On our way home we were all saying we did not eat enough of the delicious food prepared by our private chef.

Clement Hotel Chef

When we were not placing an order we would stop by the kitchen and grab a quick snack. The refrigerator and counter tops are fully stocked with delicious treats. There is 24 hour kitchen access. You are not allowed to cook. Well, who would want to cook when there is a chef that prepares just about anything possible between 6:30 am - 10:00 pm daily.

My father was so funny. He would not go in the kitchen to get anything. He would ask me or my mother or we would have to ask him if he wanted anything.

I told my parents that this portion of our trip would be filled with lots of relaxation. We had actually driven in from visiting Carmel by the Sea. We spent that portion of our trip with lots of walking, site seeing and eating.

Keeping this in mind I insisted we spend time lounging around the hotel. There is no reason to leave. Well, we did visit the mall and my father was looking forward to visiting the Stanford campus that is literally across the street.

Clement Hotel Pool Area

My parents succumbed to all The Clement has to offer. We spent time at the rooftop pool during the day and at night. During the cold winter nights the jacuzzi and heat lamps felt amazing! We even ordered tea, hot chocolate and snacks while we enjoyed the rooftop. Surprisingly we spent a couple of hours each time. I was rather surprised my parents did this.

My parents were very impressed by the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. No matter where we were someone appeared asking if we needed anything.

When we were night relaxing in our room or by the pool we sat in the living room.

The Clement Hotel Suit

After a day of eating and relaxing we returned to our dimly lit, suit with turned down beds. It was tempting to go to bed immediately, but anytime I am on vacation I like to take in everything. We talked and watched TV for a while and then went to bed.

I am the oldest of three children. I had not taken a trip alone with my parents since before my brothers were born. Although this trip was a birthday celebration for my mother it was something more than that for me. Although, I am a mother of two and have a life of my own, it felt good to actually unplug and spend time alone with my parents. Do not get me wrong. It is nice to vacation with other family members, but this was really nice.
