Antalya

I went on vacation in Antalya last summer. This amazing city is located south west coast in Turkey. Antalya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Especially Russians love this city, many Russian people visit Antalya every year. The city becomes Russian city in the season.. Antalya is world famous for its top notch resorts where you can enjoy an unforgettable with your friends and family. Sun lovers might love this city.

Geçen yaz Antalya’ya tatile gitmiştim. Antalya, dünyanın en popüler turistik yerlerinden bir tanesidir. Özellikle Ruslar bu şehre bayılır. Her yıl binlerce Rus’un akınına uğradığı bir şehirdir Antalya. Sezon aylarında adeta bir Rus şehrine dönüşür. Güneş sevenlerin kesinlikle seveceği bir şehir olan Antalya, ailenizle ve arkadaşlarınızla tatil yapabileceğiniz birinci sınıf bir tatil beldesidir.

I am living and working in İstanbul. I always wanted to visit Antalya. My aunt moved to Antalya 3 months ago. I used my annual permit and me and my family visited to my aunt in Antalya. The first two days, we went to Konyaltı beach for swim. I thought the temperature in Antalya is like İstanbul but It's not. It was like a hell. I had sunstroke. It was quite terrible. I could not eat enough and I had pain. But after painful two days, I was fine. I would highly recommend you to wear hat who visit this city. Otherwise you could be sunstroke, too. When I feel fine, me, my older sister and my cousin decided to discover the city. Our first destination was Kaleiçi ( The old town).

İstanbul’da yaşıyorum ve çalışıyorum. Hep bir fırsatını bulup Antalya’ya gitmek istemişimdir. Yıllık iznimi kullanarak teyzemlerin de Antalya’ya taşınmasıyla müthiş bir fırsat yakalayıp ailecek Antalya’ya gittik. İlk iki gün yüzmeye Konyaaltı plajına gittik. Antalya’nın sıcaklığını İstanbul’daki gibi olacağını düşünerek çok büyük hata etmişim. Şapkasız dolaştığım için başıma güneş geçti. İki günüm acı içinde ve doğru dürüst bir şey yemeyerek geçti. Antalya’yı ziyaret edeceklere kesinlikle şapka takmasını öneririm aksi takdirde sizde benim gibi olabilirsiniz. Berbat iki günün ardından ben, ablam ve kuzenim şehri keşfetmeye karar verdik. İlk durağımız Kaleiçi’ydi.

The Korkut ( Truncate minaret) Mosque

This Mosque is of particular interest, because it bears the traces of a long history from antique to Ottoman. On the foundations of a 2nd century A.D. temple, which was knocked down in the 6 th century A.D. a large church was built. During the 7th century Arab invasion suffered great damage and it was repaired in the 9th century.
It was converted to a mosque during the Selçuk period but 1361 when Antalya fell to the Cyprus King Peter I, it was converted to a church. It again began to be used as a mosque during the reign of Sultan Beyazid II's son, Prince Korkut (1470-1509). The mosque continued to be used as a place of workship until 1896, when it was largely destroyed by fire. Known previously as the Korkut mosque as well as the Friday mosque after the fire destroyed It's upper section it was called the truncated mosque.

Cami, antik dönemlerden Osmanlı dönemine kadar uzanan uzun bir geçmişin izlerini taşıması bakımından son derece ilginçtir. M.S. 2. yy ’la tarihlenen tapınağın temelleri üzerine M.S 6. Yy ’da tapınağın mimari parçaları kullanılarak büyük bir Kilise inşa edilmiştir. Bu kilise M.S. 7. Yay’da Arap akınları sırasında tahrip edilince 9. Yy ’da bazı ilave takviyelerle yenilenmiştir. Eser Selçuklular devrinde camiye çevrilmiş, 1361’de Antalya’ya Kıbrıs Kralı Peter I. eline geçtiğinde tekrar kiliseye dönüştürülmüştür. Yeniden cami olarak kullanılmaya başlaması Sultan II. Beyazıt’ın oğlu Seyzade Korkut zamanında (1470-1509) olmuştur. Son devirlere kadar ibadete açık bir cami iken, 1846 yılında geçirdiği büyük yangından sonra kullanılmamıştır. Korkut cami, diğer adıyla Cumanın cami diye de bilinen yapı, minarenin külahsız kalışından dolayı kesik minare ismini de almıştır.

When I was taking pictures of this mosque, I saw a cat. As a cat lover, wherever I see a cat, I wanted to take picture of it. Unfortunately I waked him up but I have to do that. I love taking pictures of cats.

This is a very rare picture taken when I was smiling. Because I was so tired and the weather was too hot. Even If you do nothing, the temperature makes you tired.

Bu, Kaleiçi'ni gezerken gülümserken çekilmiş nadir fotoğraflarımdan bir tanesidir. Çünkü gerçekten çok yorulmuştum ve hava çok sıcaktı. Hiç bir şey yapmasanız bile havanın çok sıcak olması size ekstra yoruyor.

This old town has lovely narrow streets and I was really enjoy when I walk there even though the weather too hot. You can find many nice cafe, restaurant and bars there.

Kaleiçi’nin sokakları beni gerçekten mest etti. Havanın aşırı derecede sıcak olmasına rağmen Kaleiçi’nin müthiş dar sokaklarını dolaşırken gerçekten keyif aldım. Etrafı dolaşırken bir köşede dinlenebileceğiniz güzel kafeler, restoranlar ve barlar bulunmaktadır.

Hadrian's Gate

This is the only remaining entrance gate to the ancient city of Antalya and harbour in the walls which surrounded them. It was built in honour of the visit of the Emperor Hadrianus to Antalya in 130 A.D. Rising up on four pedestals it has three entrances with its ornamental pillars and double front it has the appearance of a Roman Triumphal Arch. There were probably statues of the Emperor and his family on top of the arch, but these have not survived until the present day. The towers on either side of the gate are different. That on the left on the front side belongs to the Roman era, while the inscription on the right side tower shows it to have been built by Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat (1219-1238) The gate underwent restoration in 1959.

Eski Antalya şehri ve limanı kuşatan surlar üzerindeki kapılarından günümüze ulaşan tek kapıdır. Roma imparatoru Hadrian’ın M.S. 130 ‘da Antalya’yı ziyaret anısına yapılmıştır. Dört ayak üzerinde yükselen ve üç gözlü girişi ve sütunlarla süslü çift cepheli mimarisi ile Roma şeref Tak’ı görünümündedir. Tak’ın üzerinde muhtemelen imparator ve ailelerinin heykelleri yer almaktaydı, ancak bunlardan günümüze ulaşan olmamıştır. Kapının her iki yanında, farklı yapıda iki yüksek kule bulunmaktadır. Önden sondaki orijinal olup Roma dönemine aittir. Sağdaki ise kitabesine göre Selçuk Sultanı 1. Alaaddin Keykubat tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Kapı, 1959 yılında restore edilmiştir.
