Today I am gonna continue to write my second episode which is about my trip to Rome. I hope you like the previous one.

We've stayed in Rome two days. In those times, me and my friend were volunteer worker for European voluntary service. I mean, we did not get paid so much. We've search for accommodation on Couchsurfing( It's a hospitality service which provides you free accommodation on the internet) but we didn't find anybody to accommodate us.

Roma’da iki gün kalmıştık. Roma’yı seyahat ettiğim zaman, ben ve arkadaşım Avrupa Gönüllük hizmetinde gönüllü çalışanlardık. Yani açıkçası pek para kazanamıyorduk. Couchsurfing’de ( internette size ücretsiz konaklama sağlayan bir site) bizi konaklayabilecek birilerini aradık fakat bulamamıştık.

Spanish Steps

This place is one of Rome's most popular gathering place. And also one of the longest and widest staircases in all of Europe. The first thing a lot of people ask themselves is ; why is called the Spanish steps when it is in fact located in Rome, Italy ? The reason why there called Spanish steps is the Spanish Embassy to the holy see was, and still is located nearby. After we having a long distance walk in Rome, It was really enjoyable to take a rest and have a chat there.

Vatican is a the most smallest country in the world located in Rome. The Vatican city is the religious and political headquarters of the Vatican Papal State.

Vatican, dünyanın en küçük ülkesidir ve Roma il sınırıları içerisindedir. Bu küçük ülke, Katolik Kilisesi’ne ait olan Vatikan papa tarafından yönetilir.

Castel St Angelo

The construction of this great building started in year 135 A.D. and finished just 4 years later. In the old times, many Roman emperors were burned in this castle. This castle was also place where Cem sultan (Son of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet who is conqueror of İstanbul) imprisoned.

Castel St Angelo Kalesi

Bu görkemli kalenin inşaatı M.S. 135'de başlanılmış ve 4 yıl sonra bitirilmiştir. Bu kale, tarihte çok büyük dramlara ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Burada eskiden Roma dönemi imparatorlarını yakarlarmış. Ayrıca, burası bir zamanlar Fatih Sultan Mehmet’in oğlu Cem Sultan’ın mahkum olduğu yerdir.

As I mentioned before, we did not find accommodation there and we did not want to pay for so expensive hotels so, me and my friend stayed whole night in some park in Rome. We don't like being a normal. We are just two crazy Turkısh guys. 😊 We slept on the grass and In the morning, we met with a wet surprise. When we slept on the grass, some fountain started to work there. It was a bit scary to wake up by a fountain in a deep sleep. But It was all ok because we took a shower for free. 😊

Daha öncede bahsettiğim gibi Roma’da konaklayabileceğimiz bir yer bulamamıştık ve pahalı otellerede para vermek istemiyorduk. Bir park bulmuştuk ve bütün bir geceyi orada geçirmiştik. Normal olmayı sevmeyen iki çılgın Türk’tük aslında. 😊 Çimlerin üzerinde uyuduk fakat sabaha karşı bizi ıslak bir sürpriz bekliyordu. Çimlerin üzerinde uyurken, çim sulama aparatlarından su fışkırmaya başlamıştı ve tamamen sırılsıklam olmuştuk. Aslında çok da büyük bir sorun değildi en nihayetinde bedavadan duş almıştık. 😊
