    Interesting post. It reminds me a lot of Winston Wu and his expat travels all over Asia and eastern Europe. His website and forum, Happier Abroad and the forum members basically expand and reiterate much of what you say. Did you just go on a whim to Thailand or did you do much online research, reading or even gained info from friends before you went? Good post, upvoted!
