Hamburg Mainstation is beautiful!!!

I had a meeting at Google a couple of days ago and on the way from Hamburg to Berlin I visited the Deutsche Bahn First Class Lounges. The german train compoany Deutsche Bahn offers Lounges in all major trainstation and you can enter if you hold a First Class Ticket or a Memberscard.

First Class Lounge Berlin

The Hamburg Lounge has a huge Lounge + a small First Class Section. Germany's trains have a lot delays (in comparison in Japan the trains combined delays for a year are less than the delays for a month in Germany) so having access to the Lounge saves you around 3-10 Euro as you can eat and drink in the Lounge. The Lounges offer Bread with Ham and Cheese and you can drink Coffee or Softdrinks for free (There are other offerings based on the season i.e Cake or German Sweets)

I like the Berlin Lounge better as they offer more space in the First Class Section but the Hamburg Lounge had better service.

Did you know that most train operators offer Lounges???

Wow, I didn't know even in Germany trains are delayed.
And I also heard that if trains are late in Japan, someone goes to all passengers and apologises? (I have no idea if it is even remotely true)

germany is the worst. 80% of the trains are delayed.
in japan trains run like clockwork...

haha, didn't expect that! It is on par with India then ;)
