Suiran

I had the chance to compare the Ritz Carlton Kyoto vs. the Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto. Both Hotel are in the higehest Class and offer unparalled Service

The Suiran is a bit more like a Ryokan and it is one of the Hotels with the best Redemptionsvalues for points as it cost up to 1500USD per night. You got a very nice outdoor Japanese style bathtub and a Stonegarden. The Hotel is modern and perfected to every detail. The food is Japanese Keiseki and fantastic.
