I travel the world Part 163: Mt. Fuji

in travel •  8 years ago  (edited)

Every men in Japan goes to the Golf Driving range

But most of them never play on a golf course. My Japanese friiends always ask me to go with them to the range. I am not very good at it but I like it in Japan because the ball comes out automatically ;)

My friends and I always wait for the ball machine and the first one to hit the ball collecting machine gets a free meal ;)

Driving Range near Mt. Fuji

I made this beautiful Shot of Mt. Fuji from Lake Ashinoko

Mount Fuji (富士山 Fujisan?, IPA: [ɸɯᵝꜜdʑisaɴ] ( listen)), located on Honshu Island, is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776.24 m (12,389 ft).[1] An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–08,[5][6] Mount Fuji lies about 100 kilometres (60 mi) south-west of Tokyo,  and can be seen from there on a clear day. Mount Fuji's exceptionally  symmetrical cone, which is snow-capped several months a year, is a  well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and  photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers. Mount Fuji is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" (三霊山 Sanreizan?) along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku. It is also a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and one of Japan's Historic Sites.[7] It was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site on June 22, 2013.[7] As per UNESCO,  Mount Fuji has "inspired artists and poets and been the object of  pilgrimage for centuries". UNESCO recognizes 25 sites of cultural  interest within the Mt. Fuji locality. These 25 locations include the  mountain itself, Fujisan SOURCE

It is a tradition to make a picture or paint Mt. Fuji

This is my very best shot so far of Mt. Fuji which is a world heritage since 2013 so worth a visit. You can go up by car to Go-go-me or visit one of the excellent restaurants on Mt. Fuji. I will make a post about the food you can eat on Mt. Fuji.If you visit this area make sure to go to Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Ashinoko etc.

Did you know you can see Mt. Fuji from Tokyo ???
