Our world, our planet. Interesting places 1/2018: Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is located in the central part of Croatia and is a place worth visiting during the holidays. It is the first national park in Croatia founded in 1946 and in 1979 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is suitable for tourists both for a one-day visit and for a few days stay. In summer, this place is visited by several thousand people a day.

The whole park complex consists of several dozen lakes, 16 of which have their own names and they are the main water reservoirs in this area ( Prošćansko jezero, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Vir, Galovac, Milino jezero, Gradinsko jezero, Burgeti, Kozjak,  Milanovac, Gavanovac, Kaluđerovac and Novakovića Brod) . In addition, the lakes are divided into upper lakes (formed on impermeable dolomite rock) and lower lakes (formed in permeable limestone substrate). The lakes are connected with each other and their end is the wonderful waterfalls, which every tourist wants to capture in the photo from his camera.

Very nice option for tourists is the possibility to choose one of the 7 trails around the lake complex. The length of the route and its degree of difficulty can be adjusted to physical capabilities and condition of the visitor. Both families with children, the elderly and experienced walkers will find a route for themselves that will show them the beauty and magical atmosphere of this place.

A beautiful place that is worth visiting not once. Excellent conditions for people traveling by car: accommodation, parking lots, campsites, restaurants, toilets.
