Visiting Chinchero in PerusteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello friends,

Today I will share with you some images from Chinchero, a small village near Cusco, Peru.

According to local folklore, Chinchero was the birthplace of the rainbow. And indeed, you see all the colors of the rainbow in its colorful Sunday market.

It is believed that the village may have been an important town in Inca times, due to the massive stone wall that was found. The construction of the wall and many other local ruins are attributed to Inca King Tupac Yupanqui, who possibly used Chinchero as a kind of country resort (1).

Mum look, I found a fish!

Ever seen cows on a roof?

Chinchero market

If you ever visit that market, I suggest you buy some textiles. The quality is excellent, and the price very low. You can even find handmade woven alpaca products. I got a jacket that I still wear, many years after.

And that's the end of today's post. I hope you liked it, and that you will follow me to the next one. Have a good day, and speak to you soon!
