Hello friends,
Today I am going to talk about my visit to the Saadian Tombs in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The Saadian Tombs date back to the 16th century. They were discovered in 1917, and after their restoration have been a major attraction for visitors of Marrakesh. The tombs comprise three rooms, all displaying beautiful carvings in cedar wood and stucco, and contain the interments of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty. The monuments are made of Italian Carrara marble (1).
In the courtyard there is a garden with orange trees, and the graves of soldiers and servants.
And that's the end of today's post. I hope you liked it, and that you will follow me to the next one. Have a good day, and speak to you soon!
P.S. All images are mine unless otherwise stated.
