How To Drink Wine As an Italian

If you are the wine-lover you definitely understand that wine is not just an alcoholic drink, it's a special culture of with traditions and rules. For sure, I can't pitch you a lot about choosing and drinking proper type of drink for your occasion, because I am not a sommelier or professional at all, but at least I can tell you couple interesting facts how to drink wine as an Italian.

1. Italians are drinking for the pleasure, not to be drunk! That's why two glasses of wine during the dinner are more than enough. They don't drink wine to forget about their problems or feel euphoria, for the wine is a drink with complicated tastes, which has to be paired with different types of food.

1. Everything in Italy goes under the special schedule and drinking wine is not the exception from this rule. Italians follow rules what to drink, when or where. For example, they are drinking grappa (grape vodka) or limoncello as a digestive. Wine is supposed to be drunk during the dinner (never before).

2. In Italian families (usually grandpa) dips the piece of bread in the wine and gives it to taste to the grandchildren. Italians think that the wine is the national treasure and it's a part of the healthy diet.
