Today I am going to show you the famous Anthony-Quinn Bay! A really beautiful place to be!
Because we didn’t want to pay money for a taxi or a bus we decided to walk to the bay. Google Maps said we would take about 50 minutes. Here you can see our planned route:
Everything went fine until the place where the red arrow is pointing at. We even arrived faster than in 50 minutes. About half an hour maybe. But the problem at that ppoint was, i decided to turn of google maps because we already could see the sea. So I thought we already have reached the place. Wrong! After laying two hours at the beach and enjoying the sun one of us noticed that we are at the Ladiko beach not the Anthony Quinn Bay….. what a shame!! At this zoomed-in map you can see where we stopped and where we wanted to go.
To get to our true destination we had to walk a little bit further. So if someone ever visits Rhodos and wants to see the bay just go until the road stops and don’t be silly like me and hurry to the next beach that could be the bay ^^ But I have to say the Ladiko beach is also very beautiful! I will show you some pictures here but first let me tell you something about the temperatures. We went to Rhodos at the end of septemer. So that means the water is still pretty warm but something around 5 o’clock the wind gets colder and stronger. But by swimming in a bay the mountains around it protect the beach a bit from the wind. Anyways let’s see some pictures of the Ladiko beach:
As you can see this beach worth a visit! But I can’t recommend the restaurant right next to the beach. The portions are way to small and if you are really hungry you must order a lot of stuff so that you won’t starve… Also it is quite expensive and the quality could be better for that money.
Why this bay is so famous is because of a movie called “the guns of Navarone”. It is a film from 1961 so a bit older already. But still I would like to see it one day!

At around 6 o’clock in the evening we left the beach and decided to go for some hiking to the next Café, the astronomy café. We didn’t take the main road because that would take to much time and we also wanted to see something new. That was a good decision you will see now why:
Finally arriving at the Cafe I was the only one starving! So first of all a salad with halloumi cheese :D
Well, I must say, the Cafe wasn’t that great as it was described in the internet but it was quite ok. The waiter was very nice although he forgot my salad at first. But I can recommend the walk through the hills!
And weh ad a beautiful sunset on our way back home tot he hotel:

Before I forget: the seven points why to visit Rhodos. And pint number 3 is the nature on the island. If you are willing to do some walk you can see astonishing places! And as I already mentioned the clear blue water at every beach!
The sky was a bit cloudy in the evening so the pictures may see a bit dark but still I loved it and think the pictures turned out quite well. (even without sunshine ^^)
Well that is all it from the third day and our trip to the bay. At night we went for “one” beer at a bar and returned at 4 o’clock in the morning … I don't have to say more do I ?^^
