This is a hidden gem on the Red Sea - natural, quiet and totally peaceful.  Terrific for diving, snorkelling and definately amazing underwater photography

These "dugongs" or Sea Cows can be found here - but respect them as there rare are only a handful of them; but if you do meet one then they are friendly.

How about diving for 'sunken treasure'??? There are apparently 5 sunken ships off Marsa Alam within a 100 mile radius.  Permissions needed and you must be an experienced diver. Dive schools in Marsa Alam.

So What you waiting for ???? pack your kit, dive gear and come see for yourself......see you there!!!!

I can recommend diving in Marsa Alam but I was not lucky. No dugongs at the time I was there. The reefs are wonderful. Snorkeling or diving both is super.

Aww thats a shame - must of been their day off.... better luck next time : ) The area is absolutely stunning, hoping to get there again soon.

Are you living in Marsa Alam? I have heard that many hotels are shut now.

No I dont live there, but I do live in Egypt and as far as I know its still a thriving holiday spot, especially for the diving crowd. Egypt is not an unsafe country as the western media would have you all believe- come see its great, good weather, friendly people and CHEAP!
