The first location which I would like to suggest as a great place to travel to while in South Africa is Hluhluwe, Zululand.
This location is great for game reserve based travel and sightseeing, and is only 2 and a half hours drive from Kings Shaka International airport. A well positioned lodge to check out is Umkhumbi Lodge, it's well positioned because it's within driving distance of all the big game reserves in the area. http://umkhumbilodge.co.za/
Places nearby include Hluhluwe/Umfolozi game reserve, St Lucia world heritage sight, Pinda game reserve etc etc.! There are many companies which offer game drives, helicopter rides, and many more very exciting excursions.
