A special place

There is one town in one of the former Yugoslav states, which has been special to my heart. The city that has always supported diversity, subcultures and was generally in front of other cities of ex Yugoslavia. This city is Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. One of the more famous terms related to Ljubljana is its old name, Laibach, which we associate today with the most famous Slovenian music band. The town lies on the Ljubljanica River which is very nice incorporated in the center of the city. In some parts Ljubljana even reminds me of Amsterdam.

Ljubljana is mostly a quiet city, but there is also a rich offer of places to go. The interesting place for me is Metelkova, an abandoned barracks, which is turned into a large squat. Within it there are several smaller clubs and cafes, and it is always fun and crowded with people. Unfortunately, last time I was there was in 2014, but I intend to visit Ljubljana again this year. So for now enjoy my photos from 2014.
