跟我去旅行之浪漫厦门岛 Travel with me to one of my favorite Chinese cities, Xiamen

Today I'm gonna show you one of my favorite Chinese cities, Xiamen.
Xiamen city is an island, where located in Fujian province, South China, beside Taiwan Strait. It is known for its mild climate, Chinese Hakka culture and colonial architecture. It's one of the suitable city for living in China. Xiamen is so different from other big cities in China, the whole city is so bright because of side by blue sea, many people were hanging clothes outside their houses, playing cards and chess in the alleys, which were full of flowers. At night, in light of seaside, there are many small bars, and passers by stop and go, everything looks so romantic.
We have been to there in March, it's warm and spring scenery is infinite. Especially in the countryside, we took the train from Xiamen city to some Hakka villlages, when I got off the train, all of a sudden I smelt a long-forgotten rustic smell, the moist mountain air, and the fields were fresh green.

今年春天的时候去了厦门，是到了厦门才知道南国的春来的有多热烈。厦门是座岛屿城市，在大海的映照下，整座城市都异常明媚，花巷之间有人下棋打牌晒晾衣物，亦有饭菜香气从居民楼里传出，夜晚海滨路上小酒吧灯火阑珊，有人慵懒的倚靠着长椅聊天，整个氛围看起来非常浪漫。
我们也去了福建的乡下，一下火车就感受到了久违的乡土气息，彼时春日迟迟，想起了关于江南的诗句，用在更南方到也合适，“暮春三月，江南草长，杂花生树，群莺乱飞。”

There is also another unofficial name of Xiamen, which called "Egrets island." According to legend, in ancient times, many egrets lived in Xiamen island, they took many different flowers seeds from many places, therefore Xiamen is filled with many flowers.
Although Xiamen's GDP is during the high level in China, but Xiamen people's pace of life is very slow. Probably due to the good weather and nature around in Xiamen, people learned how to enjoy life.

喜欢厦门的另外一个别名“鹭岛”，听上去没那么都市化，但雅致充满古意。相传远古时代有白鹭在厦门岛繁衍生息，并从陆地上衔来许多花籽和草籽，岛上因此百花齐放，绿草葱葱，所以又称为“鹭岛”。其实到如今厦门经济虽居国内前列，但比起其他大城市，生活显然安逸了许多，可能与厦门的气候风光都有关系，在有山有海的城市，人们看起来总是更气定神闲一些，日子过得也不急不缓。

The Hakka people are the main inhabitants in Xiamen, most of them believe in Buddhism, there are many old Buddhism temples in the modern city center.

在厦门看到过许多佛寺庙，跟台北有些相似，客家人尊重传统，在时代风云变幻中仍能坚持信仰，客家人向来有移民文化，漂洋过海，散落世界各地，但仍然不忘故土，厦门以及福建省内许多城市都有华侨盖起的特色建筑，我们去南靖土楼的那些村落，有许多当地寺庙都是华侨捐资建成的。

Xiamen was also British concession, with a unique blend of Eastern and Western architecture. When you walk in the old quarter, you feel like you stay in the old film.

厦门是最早开发的国际港口城市，曾经又是英租界，市中心的商业街建筑都是混合风格，既有西洋建筑的古典大气，也有中国建筑的质朴色调。走在街头，常有种身处民国的感觉。

Xiamen university is the one of most beautiful universities in China, in ordering to security and not disturb students, visitors have to show their ID or passport, we didn't take our IDs that, so we just hanged around in the university quarter, it has a rich flavor of life, which is a great place to spend a day and taking photos.

厦门大学被公认为中国最美的大学之一，依山傍海，建筑古典雅致，但因为厦门大学访客需要出示身份证件，我们没有带证件，所以遗憾的错过了，就在大学附近转了转，有很多清新风格的小店，许多青春靓丽的少男少女穿梭其中把大学区域衬得很有朝气。
住在厦门的思明区，附近就是海，傍晚的时候天气凉爽，许多人跑步散心，细碎的阳光从遮天蔽日的葱绿香樟树叶间散落，异常温柔。
