Truffles, decent but not the superb quality ones. Those are black while white truffles are way more expensive. Both are extremely delicious which is quite hard to explain or even understand since they smell of bottled natural gas. Truffles are the best Istria can offer and it can offer a lot; fabulous wine, perfect olive oil, phenomenal scenery... But truffles are the best. Just gently sprinkled on home made paste with barely any sauce makes a perfect dish you'll never forget. Go figure. Was this in Grožnjan or Motovun?
