Geography is fate.
I am a desert-person; I was born in one of the hottest regions of Uzbekistan. Growing up as a kid summer usually started at the end of April. How did we know it was summer?
- You walk barefoot and your soles burn;
- The muddy water in the stream gets dirtier and bubbly, as women start washing carpets;
- White mulberry is ripe in neighbor's garden, which means it is time to raid;
I moved to Norway, and I have been waiting for summer.
So, it was the end of April.
- The soles of my Timberlands' did not burn, maybe they were just too thick;
- The streams finally started running and the ice started thinning;
- The trees are still naked - no leaves; no nothing.
It is August. They said summer was here, but apparently, I overslept it :-)
P.S. I should speak about August next time.
