From Uzbekistan to Norway: What are the differences? Part 1.

in travel •  7 years ago

Geography is fate.

I am a desert-person; I was born in one of the hottest regions of Uzbekistan. Growing up as a kid summer usually started at the end of April. How did we know it was summer?

  • You walk barefoot and your soles burn;
  • The muddy water in the stream gets dirtier and bubbly, as women start washing carpets;
  • White mulberry is ripe in neighbor's garden, which means it is time to raid;

I moved to Norway, and I have been waiting for summer.
So, it was the end of April.

  • The soles of my Timberlands' did not burn, maybe they were just too thick;
  • The streams finally started running and the ice started thinning;
  • The trees are still naked - no leaves; no nothing.

It is August. They said summer was here, but apparently, I overslept it :-)

P.S. I should speak about August next time.

Lina.
