First trip abroad with the kid

It was about time. My travel fever was high above level for a very long time but there were too many other factors against going anywhere. I won't list them here but lets just say, now it was a good time.

We had a couple of options for a destination, Bremen, Riga and Aland. All destinations are interesting and I would like to visit them all but this time we had to think practical. Bremen requires flying and to be honest my husband and I weren't into flying this time as our kid needs so much stuff and I hate flying with a lot of luggage. It is just so much easier to put everything in a car. After all, our trip was only for 5 days. Aland would have been nice, but actually my plan is to go there without our kid and hit the road on our bikes. So, we chose Riga!

Riga was actually the best option. My husband had so much hotel points from his business trips that the hotel was free for the whole stay. We also had some ship points which made our ship trips very cheap.

On our way to Riga, we stopped in Pärnu for a couple of hours. We spent time on the beach, walking and eating our snacks. I've never been in Pärnu before but now it's on my list too. I actually like Estonia quite a lot for it's shopping opportunities, relatively cheap prices, good service and distance from Finland. Now, we'll see what Latvia has to offer!
