What sounds like summer to you?

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Summer here in the Philippines is evident by its hot and tropical feel. Me and my friends can already feel it as the sun dries up the moisture from our lips everytime we hit the roads of the city. That's why it's most important to carry a bottle of water wherever we go so that we would not dehydrate ourselves. Or wait - let's just go where there are plenty of water more than enough for a bath or a drink.

There is happiness in the waves

Of course, summer would not be complete without the texture of fine sands rubbing against your skin, the hot rays of the sun smiling at you while giving you sunburns, or the refreshing rythm of the waves that bless your ears with therapeautic sounds. Everything in the beach spells happiness. It gives us peace of mind and healing. If you have a lot to think about, just sit beside the rocks and look at the endless horizon and the waves will clear your mind. Well, that's exactly what I did. And if you just want to have fun, then play under the sun with your friends. Just like what they they say, "friends, sun, sand, and sea - that sounds like summer to me."

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful places

Another thing that sounds like summer is letting water take over you. Summer wouldn't just be summer without the power of nature's most wonderful waters. Here in Iligan, we pride ourselves with having about 24 waterfalls in the city. One of them is Tinago Waterfalls which means "Hidden Waterfalls" in english. In order to get there, you need to ride a motorcycle called habalhabal and take 300+ steps. It's gonna be very exhausting but the refreshing feel you get when you arrive is worthit! The water is ice cold and it is surrounded by trees and rocks which gives you an enchanted feeling.
