NASA plans to launch a new rover, which is expected in July 2020. The rover will fly to Mars only in February 2021, but a place has already been designated for landing a large rover.
The space robot needs to study the ancient environment on Mars, the surface of the planet, geological processes, etc. In addition, the rover will collect soil samples that will forward future automatic vehicles to Earth.
The rover landing site was discussed for five years, and now the experts have decided on the final location: this is Jezero crater.
