Summer Solstice at Stonehenge

in travel •  7 years ago

Last night we travelled to stonehenge for the summer solistice. One of the only days that the monument is opened up to the public for free and you can roam around and touch the stones. It was a magical and unique experience filled with drumming, witches and pagan rituals.20170620_205328.jpg20170620_204731.jpg20170620_211637.jpg20170620_202524.jpg

Hi! This is around the corner from me! Hope you enjoyed it! Bet the traffic was bad!

Traffic not too bad. About 20 minutes from the motorway and it was so worth it.

It was a good day for it! Did you get there for the sun rise to see what its all-about?

Stayed until 0500 which was an epic feat with two kids in tow but we are only in England for a couple of months and wont get the chance to do it again anytime soon.

Glad you enjoyed the experience! I live around the corner so its the normal now haha! You enjoyed the hottest day so far this year! Not normally hot in the UK LMAO .. :)

We are from Australia so we are not sure what all the fuss is about. Enjoying the sunshine.

Hope you have a good time in the UK whilst use are here....! :)

such a beautiful view! i followed you and upvoted:) hope you will follow back

Thank you. Followed.

Fabulous post. Awesome photos - crazy that people have been gathering there on that night for thousands of years. I went myself a few years ago and won't forget the atmosphere and energy that I felt.

Could feel the energy. One of the most magical things I've been to. Do you know how long have they had it open to the public for the summer solstice?

Thanks for sharing your photos. Stonehenge is high on my list of places to visit. The place is a fascinating mystery. I bet summer solstice was the perfect time to visit.

Well worth the trip. It was absolutely amazing

I'm happy to see that they open it up for the holidays marked by its unique positioning relative to the sun. It's fascinating for both the spiritual and non-spiritual aspects it offers.

Hi, great post ! for a follow and upvote please reply to this message and follow @chrizbiz back:)

I like your strategy.

thanks ! think building up the amount of followers is the most important thing on steem :) you can post lots of quality and attractive posts, but there is no point if there aren't any followers to read it. So first priority would be building up followers and think it's a great way to help out each other with that :)

Nice photos :)
