If there is something famous in Stone Town, these are the doors that adorn most historic homes. They are beautiful and scattered all over the city, with delicate carvings in precious wood, reflections of a prosperous past. Unfortunately, this prosperity comes from the time when the city was the hub of a lucrative slave trade inside Africa and, once slavery abolished, this prosperity disappeared.
