Unprepared trips are the best!
Today, I will be sharing to you how we managed to have a trip to an island for only 4hours. My student initially wanted to go to Kalanggaman and Malapascua but we thought that we wouldn't make it because I'm not available for more than a day. We planned on going to Olango at 7am and we departed at 12noon. I felt really sleepy but I wanted to calm myself by going to the beach so I agreed.

We took a taxi going to Movenpick Hotel (formely Hilton Hotel), Punta Engaño Mactan. We arrived at roughly 1:30pm but the banca (pumpboat) leaves at 2pm so we had to wait. The boat fare is only Php15.00 (0.28USD) per head! We were astonished!

When we got on the boat, only 2 people were in it (excluding the boat operator). Most of the passengers who got in were foreigners so it felt like an international cruise (atleast I tried feeling that way! lol) Indeed, we departed from Punta Engaño at exactly 2.

It was windy and the waves were high as we went on but I liked it since I'm quite daring. Some passengers were a bit scared as they were screaming. Not sure if it was out of excitement or the other way around. The waves kept approaching us and the breeze welcomed us with joy.

When we arrived at Olango port, we looked for a source of transportation. We were able to rent a motorcab entirely for the both of us. We paid Php500 (9.78 USD) for two.

Our first destination was Casa Blanca. It is owned by a Japanese. My student swam for a bit because the resort offers a daytour. I didn't swim coz the weather was way too hot for me.

Next, we went to Marine Sanctuary Boardwalk. Entrance fee or viewing fee is Php25.00 (0.49USD).

The boardwalk is really looong! Walking distance is about 420meters if I'm not mistaken.

On the way back, the pathway looked mysterious so I took a picture 😆

Our last stop was the Birds Sanctuary. Since it's too late for the guide to give us a tour, he only lent us the binoculars. The birds have also flew far because it's already lowtide. We paid Php65.00 (1.27USD) for the entrance fee.

At the end part of the pathway, the view is indeed amazing!

The sun was going to set so we had to hurry back. The pumpboat is leaving at 6pm and that's the last trip.

I captured this photo because it reminded me that along your journey, someone's out there waiting for you. Sorry, it srsly kinda reminded me of a famous Kdrama, Goblin XD
