Tetiaroa, the bird island

Tetiaroa is an atoll (low island) located 53 km from Tahiti. Tetiaroa became famous thanks to Marlon BRANDO.

After playing in the movie "the mutiny on the bounty", he married the actress of this film, a Tahitian woman Tarita TERIIPAIA. Then became owner of the Tetiaroa atoll.

The island being private, it has remained deserted for years. But before his death, Marlon BRANDO authorized the construction of a hotel on a part of the atoll which will carry name: the BRANDO HOTEL.
