Hi Steemians.
I invite you to travel and know "Los Pantanos de Centla" Biosphere Reserve in Mexico.
The state of tabasco is located in the southeast of mexico its called El Edén, but most people do not know that, in the northern region of the state, there is a real paradise, natural and full of biodiversity: the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve.
The union of the powerful Grijalva and Usumacinta rivers is surrounded by life - from the mangroves that float abundantly in its waters to the merry manatees that ply them. There are more than 550 plant species and another 500 animals that inhabit this natural sanctuary.
Some of the mammals that live here are: jaguar, howler monkey, spider monkey, tapir and ocelot. It is also inhabited by reptiles such as the crocodile and the white turtle and birds such as hawks, toucans, storks, eagles and sparrow hawks.
The fact that so many people live here -and that some of them are in danger of extinction- is the reason why all the activities that can be done in the Pantanos de Centla as environmentally responsible, oriented to the appreciation of their natural attractions .
The best place to start your journey through the marshes is the Uyotot-Ja Interpretation Center (the Water House). In its two rooms you will learn, through videos and other materials, everything about this Biosphere Reserve and the creatures that inhabit it.
Then, you will cross a path of 750 to half forest, which includes a suspension bridge and a railing to observe the flora and fauna. There is also a sighting tower 20 meters high, from which you can perfectly appreciate the point of collision of the rivers.
The best experience is to cross the landscapes of wetlands and mangroves by boat, through whose branches the sun's rays penetrate to form a natural spectacle. Up to four different types of mangrove can be observed in the marshes: red, black, white and buttonhole.
How to get to the Pantanos de Centla?
From Villahermosa, you should take the federal highway number 180, in the direction of Frontera and Ciudad del Carmen. At kilometer 80 there is the Enrique González Pedrero Bridge, which crosses the Grijalva River and takes you to the entrance to the reserve.
Discover a true Eden in the heart of Tabasco. The Pantanos de Centla are a natural refuge like very few in the world, home to thousands of plants and animals that deserve to be admired and preserved. Do you dare to go?.
