Hi guys, I hope you're having a wonferful day. I would like to say thank you again for your warm welcome to Steemit, that's so encouraging! I wanted to show you around one of the best getaways in the heart of Bangkok, Lumpini Park.

I like to come to Lumpini on a relaxing day to enjoy my free time. Many people choose it on their day off to do exercise, run, ride a bike or simply spend some quality time with their friends and family. You will see most visitors coming here around 5 PM when the heat is not so bad and the sun is going down. Thai people don't like getting suntan, but I don't mind, I love the sun!

You can see some giant palmtrees here, as well as a lot of hardwood trees providing shade, which is always welcome in Bangkok, the hottest city in the world! I'm sure that you guys like coconut trees too, you will find loads of them in Lumpini.

And here is a scary, yet a very cute attraction of Lumpini, water monitors!

Many visitors are super interested in water monitors and spend lots of time trying to get a nice picture. In the past Thai people used to call those cuties เหี้ย, pronounced as hee-yah, which in modern Thai means 'damn'. Water monitors liked to steal food and small animals from people and didn't get much love from them back in the days. Nowadays, however, water monitors are protected animals in Thailand and their name has changed too: they are called วรนุช, pronounced as woh-rah-nootch, a Tinglish version of the word Varanus.

As I said before, many people come here to do some sports and there is an outdoor gym hidden among the trees!

I usually come to Lumpini to chill though, so this will be my kind of place:

Last but not least, the tallest building in Bangkok, MahaNakhon, which you can see in the background:

If you want to chill like I did today, get on the plane and come to Thailand! Hope you enjoyed my post, sending you lots of sun and love from Bangkok, Maya.

Thank you very much :)

Next visit to Bangkok I will definitely visit the park :) I see Bangkok as noisy megapolis, but it seems the park is really chilly :) Nice post!

Thank you @irishabstainer! Bangkok is noisy but there are places here where you can chill too!

My friend, a kind reminder here.
#cn tag is stand for chinese.
However, no chinese was detected in this article.
Please use wisely for your tag, thank you.

Well, I think Chinese audience will be interested in my content, taking into account the amount of Chinese people living in Thailand and choosing Thailand as their holiday destination. I chose this tag wisely, thank you for your kind reminder though.

I love Lumpini Park. I used to go there to jog and use the weights. Now, When I visit Bangkok I go to Benjasiri Park. It's a little closer to my family's home. Nice post!

You've got an incredible gift.
