Oh Tokyo!

One of my fondest trips has to be Tokyo. I just love the atmosphere of the largest city in the world. It's like a blend of old with the new. Where modernity and old fashioned tradition come together and make a love child, the result - Tokyo.

It's hard to believe that Tokyo is home to over 36 million people. This population is spread over 3 prefectures and makes Tokyo the largest city in the world.

The Ginza district is where you'll find the high-end fashion shopping district and will be particularly attractive if you are visiting from abroad for the tax free benefits.

At night time, the signboards on the side of the street illuminate the whole neighbourhood and make the place stand out every corner you walk. With so many people, it is easy to just blend in and disappear, surely this is also one of the most frightening aspects of being here, how you can feel so insignificant in the backdrop of the largest most populous city in the world.

Most of the places you expect to find in a capital city of this calibre will be found. But you'll also find the neighbourhood favourites like the florists, and cake shops.

Actually, Tokyo is also home to the most top-rated restaurants in the world, 14 michelin three star restaurants to be exact! If you are feeling peckish for something sweet, you can also check out the local Lauduree dessert store. Now you don't need to travel to Paris to enjoy parisien cakes!
