We Are In TEXAS! Part 3 - San Antonio Riverwalk Photos! ~ Travel Update From Texas πŸ“· [MY PICS inside]

Our first full day in San Antonio brings our family to the Riverwalk and all the excitement that comes with it! There is a lot of history here and we love to uncover history. The San Antonio Riverwalk is one of the biggest draws of activity in the city. There are plenty of restaurants, exhibits, shows and even museums.

Enjoy the photos!

A beautiful photo of the riverwalk with a ferry boat coming into view carrying a load of passengers. The driver of each boat tells the history of the old city as they pass by. Again, there is a lot of history here with the Riverwalk being first designed in 1929. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the size of the trees along the Riverwalk. The city has done an amazing job at growing the plant life along the walking paths.

Although the Riverwalk was first designed in 1929, it really didn't become popular until the 1960's at the 1968 worlds fair. Notice the mama and baby ducks in the photo below.

A photo from above the Riverwalk, from the balcony of one of the many restaurants.

Another picture of the Riverwalk in San Antonio. The Riverwalk is about 15 miles long total with about 5 miles weaving through the downtown area.

You will see lots of fish swimming in the Riverwalk area waters but you will also see a good number of ducks with their young in the summer.

One of the many bridges that cross the Riverwalk and allow visiters and strollers to move to either side of the river and visit the many cafes and attractions on both sides.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. More great photos and videos coming soon! Stay tuned!

My son is down there in the military and we are visiting soon and planned to do the alamo and riverwalk if we had time. Seeing your pictures makes me want to swap that list

Both the Alamo and Riverwalk are in walking distance from each other. You should be able to do both. ENJOY!

wait, there is water in Texas! All I remember is 110 degree weather and desert like places, lol

That is west texas! LOL

I got shafted!

Always enjoy seeing the San Antonio River Walk. Where is the Alamo? Thanks for taking us along for the ride. πŸ“πŸ“

The alamo is about 2 blocks away from the riverwalk. Go, you will enjoy it!

Been there. Got to see it all when one is in San Antonio! Glad you dropped by. πŸ“πŸ“

Looks so beautiful! I never have been but looks like somewhere I must visit asap haha 🌸

It's a lot of fun!

Shared to showcase the fun!

THANKS!

be sure to stop by Dick's Last Resort

the staff is INTENTIONALLY rude to you.
all in good fun of course.
They love it when you are rude right back at em.
They were rude to me. Image being rude to a trucker!
Like lambs to the slaughter. I got a free beer.

I've been to the one in San Diego and found that out for myself, i.e. no pre-warning of the attitude. We had a blast!

Looks like fun

Good Post

Your trip is really cool.

When we were there for my husband's basic training graduation that was my favorite place. There is just something about the atmosphere that is unmatched. The fudge shop is delicious and there is a beautiful church within walking distance.

I've been a few times now and I love the Riverwalk. Thanks for sharing!

We visited there several years ago. It's a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing great photos and more about the history of the Riverwalk!

looks like a good time
