The Duke of Cambridge has embarked on a tour of the Middle East, arriving in Jordan on Sunday to be greeted by the country's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in Amman.

On a Middle East tour, Prince William will be the first kingdom to make an official visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories. Kensington Palace said the "historic nature" of the tour was "important".

On Monday, Prince William visited a military base of the Quick Reaction Forces - set up with British military backing - to meet with members of Jordanian armed forces.
