I leave early in the morning to leave my friends in the moody sleep and head out of Málaga to Córdoba. I reach the train station by foot and even by calling (Estacion de Málaga Maria Zambrano). I want to get a round trip ticket to Córdoba. It is much more convenient than a bus stop because it takes about an hour to travel by train; but ticket prices are variable. Some times cheaper, some times more expensive. The ticket I bought was 09.15 Málaga-Córdoba and 20:25 Córdoba-Málaga ticket, which is the most affordable for that day and I pay a total of € 44 (can be paid by credit card).
When I get on the train, I am preparing for a hard day for me by sleeping for an hour. Because Córdoba, Seville is the highest city in the summer heat of the country. Even the people of these two cities love to compare the warmest city. The Córdoba is also typical of self-sharing and sharing with the city's thermometers, which show temperatures of 450 and above.
When I arrived at Córdoba station at 10.15, first stop by the tourist office in the station, I get docile documents and start the walk. My goal is primarily the Mezquita-Cathedral and the Alkazar Fortress, which are of course worthless. The rest depends on this hot performance :-)
As I walked south from the station I went to the door called "Puerta Sevilla". From there I make a sweet entry into the city center. I'm walking around in the cute white houses of two floors.
There are no people on the streets except for a single tourist like me. Walking amongst the streets, Caballerizas Reales de Cordoba is coming out. I can not get an hour from the area where I came in to think that it is the place where the horse shows are made. First I look at the closed building where the phaetons wait.
When I go out, I see a big sandy runway, a tribune to watch, and a horse on the right side, each standing in their own special partitions.
The housekeepers are taking the horses to the shower, repairing their nails, knitting their hair :-), they carry their hay, so everyone is working hard. I am watching these people who are working as well as sweet sweet horses. I think there will also be a demonstration; because they are preparing some of the horses. I am quite sincere with one of the horses while standing still for a while. He is licking my lips, covering my hat ...
The riders take the ready horses to the sand track and make various shows; although I do not know much about it, I understand that horses have shown different walking styles.
After watching for a while, I say goodbye to lovely horses and go to the Alcazar Castle (Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos), which is next door neighbor. The weather is really hot, we are standing in the sun while waiting in line :-(
I start wandering around (4,5 €) by giving the entrance fee. It was used as city walls and gardens. Inside there are two towers that provide a view from the top of the city and very beautiful gardens with flowers, with a wonderfully arranged pool. First I go around the gardens, the fluffy waters flow; I enjoy the view by refreshing a little wet from the fountains.
This garden, the garden that King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel gave permission to go to India, and a sculpture that shows it in the garden (I saw it in a statue like Granada, remember :-)
An image from one of the signs to the other and the Roman Bridge in the back.
The most important treasure of the city is also seen in the Mezquita-Cathedral, from the bushes.
After I leave this beautiful place, I walk towards the Mezquita-Cathedral and they are very close to each other. I walk around the square on the Roman bridge (I just took a photo of the bastions) before entering, and there is an incredible warmth. Upuzun does not have an eye to return until the end of the bridge, I have no connection to the tower at the end of the heel; I have to go back and enter a closed one. It was already 'siesta' of the city. Many places are closed at noon due to extreme temperatures. The summer weather is turning towards 22.00 and they spend their afternoon resting. It would be a lie if I did not care for some people to lie on grass in the coolest parts of the parks instead of going to their homes; but I do not have that much time, there are places I need to visit.
I quickly arrive at the entrance of Mezquita and get a copy and brochure for € 8.
