Moscow Trip Part 1

in travel •  7 years ago

Hi guys and welcome to my new post about traveling. Today I will show you some stuff about my vacation in Moscow.

I am actually originally from Moscow but been living in USA for a while now. However, I love visiting Moscow as much as I can because it is such a beautiful city, with great vibe and history, gorgeous architecture, and amazing vibrate nightlife.

So who has been to Moscow before knows that it’s very glamorous and very expensive. However, that was before all the sanctions, after the oil price drop rubble went down, and it became favorable for other currencies. So finally as a Russian American I can finally ball out in my hometown ;)

Ok so as a foreigner ifyou want to visit Moscow I recommend getting an airbnb. You can get a great deal at the most central area for around $30-50 per night. That is much more affordable than getting a hotel, and the hosts are super welcoming, can recommend you places to go to etc. Also weather can get pretty bipolar in May (when I went) so prepare for anything.

Moscow map is super easy to understand. It has so called “rings”, so choose the location that is inside the ring and in the center. That way you can either walk to everything, take subway or take a short uber ride.

Each time I come back to Moscow it’s 80% with a friend who’s never been there. So we always head to Red Square, it’s big and it’s beautiful with many things to see. From many museums, orthodox cathedrals, memorials, and beautiful shopping centers.

Anyways we arrived from NYC that day, were pretty tired but it was Saturday so we went out to Red Square then had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants called White Rabbit

White Rabbit has amazing and diverse food, great service, tasteful interior, and great views. Keep in mind in Moscow restaurants open until late, and people go out late as well. So it was a late dinner for us before actually gone out.

After we were done we headed to one of the famous rooftop bars, called Duran Bar

Not a lot of tourists know about this place so you’ll see where all the fancy locals go to. Most of the nightlife scene is located along the river across the main cathedral. All these nightclubs and lounges used to be warehouses or old factories.

Of course, who wants to stay at one place for the whole night? NOT ME! So we decided to go to another place, and another place... One of the places we went to was a club where you pay a fee of $30 but get like 6 drinks covered ://////

Sounds great! We went there, and had a really fun night. When we got out of the club it was already sunny outside! I did not expect that. Not the most pleasant feeling.
Would rather be a vampire and go to bed when it’s still dark but oh well....

As you guessed our morning wasn’t great but no time to feel bad and hangover, time to have brunch! The brunch place that I reserved in advance was called Turandot

Ah it’s such a beautiful place, like an old opera house. For about $95 you’ll get unlimited brunch with fresh juices, seafood and caviar. Amazing deal in my opinion. Check out the video below to see all the marvelous details of this place, and judge for yourself.

really nice post, I have upvoted and will be waiting for your next post about Moscow. I heard that it is dangerous ıf you go to Moscow alone. do you think so? I have a wish to visit Russia as it seems an unknown country for me, but I am a bit worried about safety.

It is no more dangerous than any other places to me, in europe for instance.

It is definitely not dangerous, if you stay in central area, take uber you'll be fine :)
