I am a huge fan of Japanese history and culture , one of my bucketlist is to visit the Castles during the shogunate period.
Gifu Castle is located in Gifu City Gifu prefecture in Central Japan, it was formerly ruled by one of Japan's unifier Oda Nobonaga. It is on top of a mountain approximately 2000 meters. One way of reaching the castle is through cable car or for adventurers you can also hike.
The castle houses weapons, armours ( Samurai Armour) portraits of the Shogun Nobonaga and other memorabilias. You can also experience a 360 degrees view of the whole city. No wonder Nobonaga choose this castle it is an ideal fortress for any rulers.
Try to add this place to your itinerary if you happen to visit the central region of Japan🗾🎌
