Dauin is just outside Dumaguete, right?
There are places to go to there I was told :)

Correct. We've stayed at the Sta Monica Beach Club in Dumaguete.

Nice place :) Been to other places in the Philippines?

I stayed at Mike's Dauin Beach Resort in Dumaguete.

My flatmate was renting her cottages to german nationals who were diving instructors..

Lots of German and British tourists in the Philippines ... just like Thailand ... they are everywhere!!

true true..it's the weather ;)

Thailand is the worse place in the world to meet other Brits!! Even worse than Spain! LOL!

It's time to replace where you go then ;)
But Thailand got so much exotic fruits around and quite cheap to live too.

Wow just found your post! Its funny i have same destinations like you!! ;) I will follow you for more updates!Feel free to check my latest post about the tresher sharks in malapascua and the one in apo island with the sardines! Keep up the good work!

Greetings from switzerland!

Beautiful! Great pics too. My favorite place that I've dived so far has been Cozumel.

Hurghada on The Red Sea is a close second for me @richq11 ;)

I dove off of Nuweiba when it was still part of Israel. I always wanted to dive the Caymans, I heard it's incredible.

I'm off to Haifa in Israel next month, so I hope to get some diving in there too :))

I'm 71 now so my diving is pretty limited. I'll never forget my first time going from the pool to the water... it was off Portsmouth NH. I was out about 200 meters and I ran into about a 60 lb grouper... It scared the hell out of me (I was about 14) I never wanted to dive again!

It definitely more hairy for me now at 46 than it was at 21! Maybe at 50 I'll give it a rest :)

I broke my back about 35 years ago so I don't have the stamina I used to. I went lake diving here in Arkansas last summer and it damned near killed me! I'm afraid my diving days are over BUT if I got a chance to do the Caymans, I'd have to suck it up!

Fresh water diving scares me. I think I'll just stick to the seas!! ... bring on those Caymans ... one day!!
