That is so pretty. I love how the old and the new mix seamlessly together.

Thanks @lydon-sipe it has been a super experience seeing the sights of Dubai. This was a great trip along the river and a trip back in time.

The wood work on that boat is amazing!

Isn't it just something amazing. I love this one. Modern design but made from wood! @old-guy-photos

I love, love, love the photographs you got!

I bet it was a neat experience to take the water taxi. Chicago has them and if we ever decide to go there for a visit, I plan to take one.

Did I mention that I loved your photographs? :D

Wow thanks @debralee I hope you get to go on one sometime. There is always Chicago as a option :)

I did enjoy it. This is the only way to travel these ancient cities, no? Travel the same path that their ancestors did, seeing some of the very same sights in almost the very same way. Now we are talking historical steps.

I have no idea why Dubai has never come up on my radar, except perhaps it was too hard to get into a few years back.

I love your tour and look forward to more pictures and stories.

I totally agree. Many cities are best viewed from a boat including London, Liverpool and Cambridge. The first two because like Dubai they were/are port cities and were developed to function from the waterside and in the case of Cambridge, it was built on fenland (floodplain) and it was easier to get around by boat.
Traveling this way you do really step back briefly; into those times.

Your shots are great @molometer ... love those wooden boats and they are awesome.

Thank you, these ancient boats are fascinating.

Dubai is so fascinating with the juxtaposition of old and new. Did you go to the desert?

It is quite something and yes we visited the desert today. I'll post about our desert trip soon. Got some stunning photographs.

Oh wonderful! I'll look forward to seeing them.
