Blog Update - Living in a Cave

Well since my last update I was in Heraklion for a while which was ok. I made bit more money and I decided after the weekend I was going to go to a hippy tourist type destination called Matala. This is a place where the hippies went in the hippy years but now it's largely a hippy themed tourist town. Despite this, there are still some real hippies living around and still some living in caves.

I left Heraklion with about the same amount of money in my pocket as I did last time when I tried for the horrible place Malia last week. I decided on the bus because my hitching luck hasn't been the best as of late and it was only fucking 8 euro.

I got the bus through the beautiful mountains to the south side of Crete to Matala. I arrived not knowing anyone or what to expect besides a friend's recommendation. I was a little despondent, a bit low and just wanted to curl up underneath a tree and get a good sleep away from the tourists. Tourist energy makes me angry, I can only handle it for so long. I'm an empath. Sometimes without choice my empathy is unconditional, this means at times I literally am the other person. I know how crazy this sounds to you but this is just the way it is. I feel the energy and the being of another person as though they were me and not always is it desirable. Feeling extra sensitive I wandered over away from all the people and found a tree in a campsite somewhere.

That night I found a friend of a friend who owns a shop in Matala selling art that she makes. She suggested I go in the day time to find a cave in the direction of red beach. I played music that night, not knowing what to expect and I did pretty well for an empty street on a monday night. I even drew a crowd again for a time and got donated a small bottle of rakia. I left my homemade mini amp at a nearby shop to charge over night.

I found a hill to sleep on and slept until the sun came up. Then I went searching for a cave. First I found a cleft in the rocks which I thought may be suitable to sleep in looking out in the direction of Africa. (as seen in this video)

Later a cave I spied before which I was sure was occupied I dared to venture inside and found it completely abandoned, a good few millimetres of dust on everything and trash everywhere. Quite a large cave but no occupant. I hit the jackpot as far as I'm concerned. There's a few caves around there and a few long term cave dwellers.

My toothache which is a once every now and then thing came back at a fortuitous time because I finally had a place I could relax, although messy but it could be called home. So for a day and a half I ground up cloves with my coffee grinder and made strong clove tea to rinse my mouth with while I ate only oranges and the occasional garlic clove. My mouth and its frequencies is my signal to have time-out.

After that settled down after a day and a half of crazy dreams and sleeping in the entrance of a medium sized cave full of trash. I got trash bags and a dust pan and brush and cleaned the place out.

I put up a sign saying it's occupied and to leave my stuff please and now I'm living with a home.

Would you believe it? I have a place to rest my weary head near a place I can play music.

Thank the gods or the jesus' that be.

Everything good comes in the end when we need it most.

My friend with the ud is still in Heraklion and he said when we were in Turkey we may have to get a cave to prepare for the recording we will do in Skopje in October.

So I've got the cave.

Check.

Now I just play music, to open minded people. Make some money and relax a bit. Do some more writing and focus on the important things before my epic quests into oblivion in times to come.

In love,

Monty

Interesting... i too am an empath and really struggling with it. Following

Heya, nice to meet a kindred. A point in my life where I had more control of my reality is when I realised that not everything that happens in my head is mine. I'm not sure all people are like this. But I don't subscribe to modern theories of information being inside the brain. They've never found it there.

I see things more like Richard Sheldrake's theory of morphic fields. Magnetic fields that hold intelligence and we can walk in and out of these fields and pick up different skills or information, sometimes without any conscious will to do so.

Conventional scientism doesn't have all the answers for me. Through experience I have tested my theories and discovered the world is different to what I have been told.

Good luck and sending love,

Monty
