Today we have a chance to take a look on the best products of the automotive industry. The most beautiful, legendary and expensive cars starting from the end of 19th century until nowadays are here, in this posting!
Wolfsburg (Germany) – it is not only the main Volkswagen factory. Yes, it was so in the past (Wolfsburg was built for Volkswagen factory workers), but only until the year 2000, when in the city center was opened a very unusual attraction – “Autostadt” (Autocity). And today I want to show you the main point of interest in Autostadt - Automobile Museum “ZeitHaus”. I have never seen before so many historical and unique cars: in ZeitHaus you could find about 100 cars from more than 50 manufacturers and it takes the whole 5-store building! Collections total value: more than 200 000 000 Euro (yes, it is two hundred millions!) that can be compared with the most famous museum collections values.
So, let’s go!
Benz «Velo» Comfortable
The first serial produced car in the world. The first one was made in 1894, the last one – in 1901. Max. speed: 21 km/h.
Lights looks very funny in 21th century: inside it you will find just an ordinary… candle.
Bugatti Typ 15
One of the first cars made by Ettore Bugatti.
Built in 1912. Hard to believe, but this car can accelerate up to 90 km/h! Unthinkable speed for the beginning of the 20th century!
Hanomag 2/10 PS «Kommissbrot»
Early model made by the forgotten manufacture from Hannover (Germany). Wooden wheels looks very interesting: this car was made in 1927, so not in the beginning of the automotive industry, when this type of wheels was on ordinary thing. Max. speed: 60 km/h.
Bugatti T57 SC Atlantic
Certainly, one of the most interesting cars in this collection. Everything is beautiful in this car: appearance, specifications, comfort and much more. And, of course, quantity: Bugatti T57 SC Atlantic was made in only 4 copies in its history, so it is really unique.
It was built in 1938 and can accelerate up to fantastic 200 km/h!
BMW 328
One of the first cars from Bavarian autoconcern. Built in 1938, max. speed: 150 km/h.
Lancia Lambda
The most interesting: steering wheel is on the right side (despite Lancia is from Italy) and so much different things on the dashboard (for the year 1924); max. speed: 114 km/h.
FMR (Messerschmitt) KR 200
This “freak” looks like it came from some old sci-fi movie and has only 3 wheels. Why it was made? Somebody wanted to build a “future”? I don’t know.
Year of manufacture: 1959.
DKW F1
The best car for big bosses: even outer side of this car is upholstered with real leather. Minimalistic dashboard is also beautiful.
DKW F1 was built in 1931.
Trabant 601 S
East German legend, folk car or just “Trabi”. Has been produced from 1957 until 1991.
Wartburg 1000
Another East German (but not folk) car. Was made for big bosses in Communists party, factory directors etc. Year of manufacture: 1964.
Bentley 3 Litre Speed
The beginning of Bentley. This car from one of the most famous manufacturers was made in the year 1924 and it was exactly Bentley 3 Litre Speed. Hand-made logo is great!
Porsche 911 Turbo
A legend, a dream! One of the most famous cars in human history! This car was made in 1982 and have max. speed 260 km/h.
Volkswagen 411 LE
Good old Volkswagen. This model has been produced for only 6 years: from 1968 until 1974, so it is rather rare car.
Bentley R-Type Continental
When someone says “classic” and “luxury”, I always imagine Bentley R-Type Continental. This car built in the year 1954 and its price was “only” 6500 British Pounds – here you could see how much prices and salaries have risen during the last half-century.
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
King of American car industry! It looks like its flying not only on the road, but even in museum! Real American dream and romance!
This flying bird was made in 1959; max. speed: 180 km/h.
Volkswagen Typ 2
Famous hippie-bus, where the sexual revolution was born. Legendary car!
Year of manufacture: 1966.
Volkswagen Karmann GF
Another car made by Volkswagen, which looks very different from any other car by VW.
Year of manufacture: 1971, top speed: only 115 km/h.
Lamborghini LP 400
As for me, very ugly model from Italian top-manufacturer.
Lamborghini 350 GT
This one looks much better, isn’t it?
Year of manufacture: 1966.
Auto Union Type C
Real racing bolide. Has been produced in 30th years by manufacturer, which became later a part of Audi concern.
Citroën DS
French classic was made in 1956.
Volkswagen W12 Syncro
This sports car concept was made only in 1 copy in 1997 especially for Tokyo Motor Show. So, it is completely unique and you can’t find it nowhere in the world – only in Wolfsburg.
Porsche Carrera GT
Another legend from Stuttgart. But, I think, every Porsche model could call a legend.
This one was made already in 21th century – in 2003.
Bugatti EB 118
It is also a concept car, which was made in 1998 and it is, of course, completely unique.
Bugatti Veyron
And my favorite! An icon of modern car industry! The most expensive and one of the fastest serial cars in the world. Its price starts from 1 600 000 Euro.
Here you could see one of the first models of Veyron, which was built in 1999. Latest models of Veyron could accelerate up to incredible 434 km/h!
