A resident of China spent about $ 5 million to convert to a restaurant decommissioned Boeing 737 Indonesian airlines.

The Lily Airways restaurant was opened in early September in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, the most densely populated city in central China. It has 20 tables, and for a day to visit the institution can be up to 200 people. Prices for different positions in the menu range from $ 25 to $ 60.

In order to have dinner "on board", visitors have to get a boarding pass, wait in a special room, and then go to the plane on the ladder.

Inside, when creating the restaurant, the spirit of air travel was fundamentally preserved - for example, in the salon, the luggage shelves were not removed, which instead are used as shelves for visitors' things, and the waiters serve guests in the uniform of flight attendants. At the same time, the seats were made much more comfortable than in a real airplane.

The owner of the establishment wanted to buy a plane before he thought of setting up a restaurant in it. He was inspired, for example, by the Swedish project, within the framework of which the aircraft was adapted for a hotel.

In order to deliver the liner to China, it had to be disassembled, sent to Wuhan in parts and collected again. Fly on their own, according to the owner, for an aircraft of this size would be too expensive.

According to the wife of businessman Lily, what he called the restaurant in her honor is the best expression of love for the family.
