Missing being in Morocco

in travel •  7 years ago

When I mentioned I was going to Morocco most people assumed I would be staying in Marrakech, we however stayed in Agadir and the weather was quite good (not as hot as Marrakech mind you but still good weather). Had probably one cloudy day out of the seven days that we were there. However it did get slightly windy during the late afternoon/evening. There was one late afternoon where we advised by the security guard not to walk along the beach as it was too windy. The day before I had battled with a whole beach full of sand spraying into my eyes so I was quite happy to take the advice of the guard and return back to the hotel.

We stayed at Riu Tikida Dunas in Agadir. The hotel is what we expected of a 4 star hotel. Well maintained, clean, friendly and helpful staff always on hand to assist. The hotel grounds were very big, lots of areas for you to relax in, most of them suited to groups but also nice spaces for couples.

Food
The all inclusive at this hotel can become slightly repetitive and some guests that we spoke to during our stay said they had been to other RIU’s in Morocco where this was not the case so this may be something you may wish to consider if planning a longer break. For the one week it was doable but I wouldn’t recommend longer than that. If you’re a fan of pizza and burgers and chips then you’ll pleased to know that these are on offer everyday. The Moroccan restaurant was our highlight. The food was delicious and although this restaurant needs to be booked in advance at the reception desk, the food was all you can eat buffet style. The vegetarian options were good here compared to other restaurants within the hotel.

Overall, I would return again and definitely recommend staying at RIU Tikida Dunas as the hotel often has offers available so could make for quite a cheap get away.
