Bangkok is one of the most famous travel destinations in the world. Known for its majestic temples and red light districts, Bangkok is also a night haven for amazingly cheap food and shopping. If you would like to have a bang for your buck and have cheap gastronomical and retail experience around Bangkok, check out these 5 amazing night markets in town.

5.) Patpong Night Market

Known as one of the red light districts in Bangkok, Patpong is also a place where you can actually do some night shopping. Located in Silom, this is where you can experience both shopping and a go go bar shopping. Don't forget to bargain really hard though.

Opening hours: All days, 6pm to 1am.

4.) Khao San Night Market

Home to many backpackers, this area turns into a wild party street filled with food stalls, shops and other services during the night. Khao san night market is a place that every traveler must jot down in their itinerary prior to visiting Bangkok. If you want to be more adventurous, you can try some exotic foods such as fried crickets that are being sold in Khaosan street - something you can cross off your bucketlist!

3.) Rot Fai Market 1 & 2

If you want a fun, hip and unique kind of environment, Rot Fai would be a perfect place to hangout. Divided into two night markets both situated in Srinakaran Road and Ratchada, these night train bazaars have a very retro-atmospheric vibe that's quite appealing to anyone. You will find a plethora of goods ranging from vintage collectibles to bohemian-in spired fashion items. Aside from the incredible array of goods, a variety of mouth-watering dishes are also being served by food stalls and restaurants in this area.
Opening Hours: Thursdays to Sundays, 5 pm to 12 midnight
Location: Srinakarin Road Soi 51 (behind Seacon Square)

2.) JJ Green Night Market

JJ Green Night Market is not as big as any of the hip markets in bangkok but its worth checking out. With about 10 minutes walk past Chatuchak Night Market, this quaint and unique bazaar is a youngster's chillout place and flea market in one. Some of hte things being sold here are similar to some of the other vintage markets in Bangkok. However, the only differnece is that it's more intimate and chill.

Opening Hours: Thursdays to Sundays; 5 pm to 2 am

1.) Chatuchak Night Market

Known as the weekend market, this famous big market has over 8,000 shops to choose from. You might feel quite overwhelmed and get lost especially if you're a first timer. You could literally shop till you drop. Just like any night market, use your bargaining skills to get the cheapest deal possible. Aside from the incredible number of shops, various food stalls and services are ready to serve you. Beware of pickpocketers which are common in the area.

Opening Hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 9 am to 6 pm and Fridays 6 pm to 12 midnight

This looks awesome. Chatuchak Night Market is my favorite one. I will definitely have to plan a trip to Thailand sometime.
