Tha Magic of our Ambience - Throwback from my Yoga Retreats

in travel •  4 years ago

This is one thing I am missing the most right now, my yearly rituals of travelling to any Yoga retreats. A time of complete cutting off from the external world, being in that small space for several days and just enjoying nature and getting detoxed. Isha Center in Coimbatore is one of my favorite destinations for the same. It's Sahdguru's Ashram and I really like how he has developed this whole space and of course I like listening to his preaching's, they are very wise and practical for today's generation. He does not give the garb of leaving the world and becoming a saint. His teachings give direction on how we can live a healthy and mindful life in our own surroundings wherever we are, he shows the path to one to become a Yogi and becoming a Yogi does not mean abandoning our current life. It is about living in this very environment in the best possible manner which evolves our spirituality.

At Isha we have a very disciplined routine. Every single person who stays in the Ashram has to get up by 04:00 A.M. and then we have a Yoga and Meditation session, post that is breakfast. But when you start at 04:30 A.M. The first thing in the morning they give is small balls made of Neem leaves and Ginger. Both of them have very good health benefits. Then after breakfast it depends what task you are there for. If you have enrolled for some course then the course of the day will be set accordingly. If you have chosen to be a volunteer, then the activity for the day will be assigned to you. The whole day there is something or the other happening and it's all meaningful. By the end of the day personally I feel very sleepy early because I am not used to getting up so early in the morning. It takes some time for me to get adjusted to the routines.

There are many people who stay there for months volunteering in different activities. I have never volunteered till date, but maybe some time I will do it.
On one of my visits there, on one of the nights, when we were supposed to gather downstairs in the dining area for dinner, we had a surprising wait for us. When I opened the door of my room, outside everything looked very dark and for a moment I felt I was late and that everyone must have finished the dinner and left. But when I came out and saw I was completely mesmerized to see the place. The whole place was lit up with Diyas and it was looking absolutely so gorgeous and heavenly. I was stunned to see the place glowing up in small lamps all around.

This is the Dining Area, everywhere there are small oil lamps, and it was winter time so it also helped to warm up the place.

The serving counters also had no lights, but there were enough lamps to make the food visible for serving

Even the Garden area was lit up with oil lamps.

There were all different types of lamp spread outs in the space.

This is one of my favorite pictures. The Bonsai Plant with the lamp lit by its side.

I think it is so delightful to have such experiences in life, they become a lifelong pleasant memory. Today also when I close my eyes and think of this one night I can clearly see the whole space coming alive in front of me and I feel so elevated.

While you can meditate in any space, but yes when you have such an environment it does make a difference to your senses. You feel the calmness and peace within you. On this night I felt like cutting off from the whole world forever and getting freezed in that moment, it felt like a fantasy and some dreamy thing coming to life.

I hope you all enjoyed this space with me.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
