Wrong. -40 is a normal temperature for a lot of cities in Siberia, for instance. The coldest place on Earth has temperatures lower than -70 and -40 is pretty mediocre.

Hi mate, saw that on Google so I wrote... people do say it is the second coldest inhabited place , minimum temperature here was -62.

Well, you can't believe everything you hear. If you look up a list of the coldest places on Earth, you will find that Ladakh didn't even make it to top 10. Ah, that's just me bitching... anyways, great post, I enjoyed it
