Sorry, I have a doubt. Aren't tattos, piercings and the like, a manifestation of sel-mutilation due to self hatred?

    This could sometimes be the case but there are many different reasons for getting tattooed. Tattoos could be for love of self, love of another, a reminder, or thousands of other reasons. Just because you tattoo over a part of yourself doesn't mean that you hate that part.
