Punta Brava Lighthouse
The Punta Brava Lighthouse is among of the places to visit in Uruguay. The lighthouse is located at Montevideo and the locals also call it as Punta Carretas Lighthouse.
This structure was built in 1876 and it has a height of 21 meters while the light can reach up to 15 miles out. It also flashes its light every 10 seconds and it has been an electric lighthouse since 1962.
One of the important functions of the lighthouse is to steer the boats out on the water; in Banco Ingles, Buceo Port and to the mouth of Santa Lucia River.
