I do not often leave reviews on the Internet, but after reading a couple of "good" reviews that Bali is a big garbage dump, I could not restrain my five kopecks, as this is far from being true! And frankly, because of these comments, my husband and I doubted for a long time to fly to Bali, but still decided to take a chance and find out how it really is! And we are very happy about this! From the first minute, leaving the airport, we felt euphoric, and realized that this is our place!
To begin with, the taste and color - there are no comrades, and if someone is going to a new unknown country, then be prepared for anything ... And I advise not to focus on negative aspects. Do not invent beautiful pictures with snow-white beaches, then to be disappointed and say "fu, everything is terrible!" because there was no docking in your head "expectation is reality"!
Bali is a very versatile and beautiful island, deliciously smelling (in contrast to the same Thailand), atmospheric! If someone did not notice, it means they were in the wrong place or at the wrong time. When we gathered in Bali, we certainly did not expect from it laxtery hotels and "bounty" wagons, and in most cases, it is for this reason that people are disappointed. Bali paradise island, but paradise for all different understanding!
I think in most cases, problems occur with "package" tourists, that they are used to the hotel mode, to all-inclusiv, to beach rest, and where you bring a beer with nuts on a tray when you lie by the pool. And to get it all, you should not go to Bali, or if you're going to, then expect to roll off a round sum of money in a five-star hotel for your usual comfort. Otherwise, you will spoil your holiday! In Bali, it's worth to go without drawing some pictures to yourself, and not to the hotel with food, but to rent a separate villa with a swimming pool, as it will come out much cheaper and much more pleasant! Choose carefully housing, because the photos do not always coincide with reality.
If you are not party people, not surfers, or can downshifters, etc., then do not come to live in Kuta! Fully other areas in Bali. Yes, in Kuta is dirty, I will not say that the slums are straight, but the beach is so-so, bulls, preziki and other muck, which the youth scattered in the night! If you want a beautiful nature, not obtrusive Balinese, nice cafes, delicious food, relaxation, etc., then the best place in Bali is Ubud! Fly right away to Ubud and do not go wrong! This is a quiet relaxing place where you do not exactly meet dirt and trash! Yes, there is no ocean near, and it will have to go before it, but this is the only minus that covers a lot of pluses! And it's better to visit several places, as we did!
Half of the holidays lived in Ubud, and the remaining half lived in the coastal zone, in the Seminyak area. In Seminyak is a beautiful beach, clean, well-groomed, yes - with paid sunbeds, yes - not turquoise water, because there is not a calm ocean, but to run at sunset on the beach, when there will be a tide, splash in already small waves - nice thing! There are a lot of options for the beaches, just do not have much to monitor this issue, get on the scooter (without it there is nowhere) and get to the favorite beach, to visit different. And in general, by the beaches, there are a lot of interesting and beautiful places, and in my opinion, it is not worthwhile to fly to Bali to lie on the beach, for these purposes, there are other countries and places. In general, summing up - Bali is not for everyone, this island is for independent tourists, preferably with experience in Asian countries. Like any Asian people, the Balinese love to haggle, they will always tell the inflated price for tourists, but this does not mean that they are arrogant and intrusive! Tourists for the local - this is a direct earnings, and this must be accepted. I do not see anything wrong with this! And I will say so, before we loved to travel to Thailand, we were on different islands and in Pattaya several times, but after a trip to Bali, our opinion changed .. Bali changed our view of Tai to the wrong side ... As they say , everything is relative...
