Suzdal Day 2017

How did Suzdal celebrate its 993th anniversary?
How much do they sell salted cucumbers and mead in the city?
And what about the real Suzdal Cossacks and Indians?

Suzdal was first mentioned in 1024 in the "Tale of Bygone Years".
I did not have time to leave the car, as they sold me delicious warm patties with cottage cheese.

Closer to the Kremlin - a continuous fair.
You really are sorry for the number of photos with tents.

Under the walls of the Kremlin is a real trading city.
Prices are too high. But the trading people came from all over Russia.
You can find many interesting things.

I've first encountered drawings on birch bark.
The structure of the tree here is skilfully woven into the plot. Or vice versa.
But very pretty.

The daughter hardly dragged from these rabbits.
Incredibly cute.

People amused themselves as best they could: pounding coins, throwing horseshoes, shooting arrows.

By the way, in the same August days in the Museum of Wooden Architecture there was a festival of patchwork sewing.
Incredibly beautiful, warm craft.

Well, it's wonderful, huh?

The people were gradually attached to the mead.
Each granny insisted that she had the real mead only with her.

In addition to the main venues on small stages, local and visiting teams performed.
In general, it's good - music from all sides, the feeling of a holiday does not leave.

Local residents, museum workers and the municipality were dressed in traditional clothing.
Judging by all, it's not hot. And very bright!

The police did not let anyone on the Kremlin's ramparts.

Pyatnitskaya church and shopping arcades have a cozy tent camp, which is covered with unreal scents of shish kebab and pilaf ...

And again cucumbers!

Piazza Square, known to everyone on the film "The Wedding of Balzaminov", was the place of the main celebration of the holiday.

Various creative groups performed here, the city administration rewarded active citizens, artists, athletes and well-working policemen.
In the evening I had a salute, but I did not find it.

A real action was a real city parade.
Tradition, apparently, came from Vladimir.
I have nothing against - very nice, home-like.

It was nice to see my wonderful teacher in the rank. I hope he is reading these lines now.

There were many horses on the parade.

There are a lot of horses.

I do not know, specially or not, but the dog walked exactly between horses and carriages.

And on Bazaar Square, meanwhile, it was noisy and fun.
The people actively ate cucumbers, apples in caramel; bought up hats with handbags and rejoiced the sun.

Not far from the official music program you could listen to the classics on the saw.

But the Indians in Suzdal are quite common.
Need some kind of curiosity on the holiday?

On the reverse side of the trading rows of residents sprawled spontaneous market.
Here you could buy everything the same as in tents, but a little cheaper, and you can bargain.

From all these dishes and heat, you could easily get tired and want to lie down somewhere in the tent.

In 2024, Suzdal will celebrate the 1000th anniversary.
There, I feel, there will be a level!
