Like I said yesterday, that I will try to post blogs about travelling as much as I can. And now today I'm back with another travel blog. Today's topic about Sixty Dome Mosque(Shat Gombuj Masjid) in local language. I don't know what took me so long to write about this great place. It is the most traditional and wll known place in Bnagladesh.

This mosque is located in Bgerhut, Khulna. The name behind this thing is Khan Jahan Ali. Yeah he is the creator of Sixty dome mosque. He was a sufist and freedom fighter. In front of this mosque there is large pond, and with few crocodiles in it. Though I haven't seen them. Quite frighting. From that lake there is a ten minutes walk way to reach the spot. Every day a lot of local and foreign tourists gather hear to take a closer look to one of the largest and oldest tradition of Bangladesh.

Khan Jahan Ali formed a town in the west region og Bagerhat. In 60's that town was named as Khalifabad. In that place there was a lot of Mosques, cannels, lakes and roads but most of the are vanished now. Sixty dome mosque is alos the sign of that times. In 1985 this mosque was added to the list of Unisco's world heritage for it's tradition and stucture. As a tourist spot. It's hard to believe they build a sturcture like that so many years ago. Which impressed me very much. There is 81 domes but it is known ase 60 domes mosque. It is actually 600 years old. When I was a child i have read about this mosque in my textbook. I would love to visit the place again and again.
