Nestled between of the seven wonders of the world, Table Mountain and the beautiful Atlantic ocean beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton, lies Lion's Head.
It is one of the easier hikes to do in Cape Town but it has stunning views of the expanse. The hike takes little over two hours in total (up and down) so I'd suggest either a sunrise or late afternoon hike when the sun's not too harsh. For the caffeine dependent, there's no need to fear as there's a mobile Vida e Cafe with the sweet aroma of their premium Arabica roasts and a few snacks if you're feeling peckish.
It truly is one of the most beautiful places to be and it tends to be a cultural melting pot with the sound of many foreign languages and interesting people. Here's a view from the top of Camps Bay and Table Mountain in the background. It's one of my favorite places.
For anyone thinking of doing the climb, it's a fairly relaxed hike with only a few precarious spots on the way up and down.
Following my recent move to the Cape, I have thought of blogging about the any wonderful things to do from experiences on a budget, to fine dining. I'd appreciate any feedback. :)
